Is PhotoArsenal free?
The download is free and includes unlimited manual inventory, one backpack, one trip and full catalog access. The annual Pro subscription adds Smart Add, catalog sync, full ArsenalGuard, unlimited TripPlanner, checklist and CSV export.
What do I need to run it?
An iPhone with iOS 18 or later. PhotoArsenal is built in SwiftUI specifically for iPhone.
Does it work offline?
Your inventory and the catalog are read locally, so you can work without a connection. A few specific features, such as the weather forecast or catalog sync, do need one.
Is my data in the cloud?
No. PhotoArsenal does not upload your inventory to any server: your data stays on your iPhone. You can export your catalog manually whenever you want.
Which brands and gear are supported?
The catalog covers cameras, lenses, drones and accessories from Canon, Sony, Nikon, Fujifilm, Hasselblad, Leica, OM System, Panasonic, Pentax, Ricoh, DJI, GoPro and Insta360, plus third parties like Sigma, Tamron, Samyang and Viltrox, mount adapters and teleconverters. And if something is missing, you can add it manually.
How does the compatibility check work?
ArsenalGuard knows the mounts, batteries, cards and accessories of every item in the catalog, and warns you when something does not fit or needs an adapter.
What is ShotCard?
It is a Lab tool that builds Instagram-ready cards from your photos: it reads the EXIF metadata and automatically recognises the gear used for the shot. All processing happens on your device.
Where does the weather forecast come from?
From WeatherKit, Apple’s weather service. When you set the location of a stage, the app requests the forecast for that place and date.
Can I back up my data?
Yes. From settings you can export your full catalog to a file, save it wherever you like, and import it back when you need it.
Is there an Android or iPad version?
For now PhotoArsenal is only available for iPhone. There is no scheduled date for other platforms.
